Genuine. Inquisitive. Challenging. Emily and Kyle are not the kind of couple that you can meet and simply pass time with small talk. They have a deeper thirst for learning than anyone I have ever met. Then again, I’ve never met another couple in their quest for PhD’s in Biomedical Engineering and Computational Biology at Duke University. They challenge you to think about the “why” in everything (I think it’s in their DNA, but they would probably think that’s silly…DNA isn’t made up of “why’s”). They are truly in love and I am so thankful that I have spent the past two years getting to know them and consequently, being challenged.
Here are some of the highlights from their engagement session in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham. (Notice: they are sporting their Duke Blue).
